• Proximity to Europe: many European destinations can be reached by road within several days.
• Commercial terms: quotations for export customers are commonly issued in EUR or USD, with Incoterms such as EXW, FCA or DAP.

Regions describe where industries are concentrated. They are not a ranking, and the right facility for a part depends on its processes, machines, materials and certifications.

ISO 9001 is widespread among Turkish industrial suppliers. Sector-specific systems are common where the end market requires them:

• IATF 16949 for automotive series parts.
• AS9100 and NADCAP-accredited special processes for aerospace.
• EN 1090 and ISO 3834 for structural steelwork and welding.
• ISO 13485 for medical devices, ISO 22163 (IRIS) for rail, API Q1 for oil and gas.

Türkiye and the European Union form a customs union for industrial goods, so manufactured parts generally move into the EU without customs duties, subject to proof of origin documentation. Turkish suppliers therefore work routinely with European technical standards, drawings and documentation requirements.

The customs union covers industrial products; buyers should still confirm the correct customs classification, origin documents and any product-specific requirements for their shipment.

Most parts for European customers travel by road, and many European destinations can be reached within several days. Actual transit times vary with the origin city, destination, border and customs handling, transport mode and cargo characteristics, so confirm them with each quotation. Ro-Ro connections to Italy and sea freight from ports such as Ambarlı (Istanbul), Gemlik, Izmir and Mersin serve heavier cargo and destinations beyond Europe.

• Agree the Incoterm and named place (for example FCA Bursa or DAP Stuttgart) with the quotation.
• Define packaging, corrosion protection and labelling in the requirement.
• Plan pattern or tooling lead time for cast, forged, stamped and moulded parts before the first delivery date.
